Are Liverpool showing us the way forward with their formation, in that we should play Jelavic and Lukaku together?

Liverpool dont have the midfielders we have so are forced to play the 2 up top. Gerrard is past it now and doesnt have the energy to support the striker properly.

It might be nice to try it occasionally be it Mirallas coming into a more attacking role or Jelavic having a partner. I'd also be interested in playing Naismith more often as he is the perfect player for a Derby game and reminds me a bit of Cahill in that he might not be the greatest footballer, but he is always getting into good positions. We can't right Jelavic off as when he is in the right form he is top class. I'm a bit annoyed at Martinez for ignoring him totally.

Thing is, if he pisses Jelavic off enough we will find that we may need 2 strikers next summer instead of 1

Don't get me wrong, it's great having a sharp scorer, but what happens in July when he pisses off and Jelly wants out? A mixture of the two has to be key.
