Back in 2012, we decided to turn the city of Liverpool blue with a series of festive activities for Evertonians.
Since then, Blue Crimbo has evolved into a campaign to recognise the most deserving Toffees fans at this special time of year.
Last year, we made surprise visits to a series of Blue Heroes to reward them for their work in the community.
Twelve months on, community will once again be at the heart of our activity and Roberto Martinez and the players will be lending their support, along with our Club ambassadors.
Each day we will showcase one of Everton in the Community’s wide range of initiatives that take place throughout the year across the region.
We will be urging fans to get involved by sharing the event or making donations of time, money or gifts - with exclusive rewards for those who do!
Central to our activity this year is the new Alder Hey children's hospital, with some very exciting plans underway to make Christmas extra special.
The programmes being showcased include those promoting disability football and tackling mental health issues, homelessness and dementia.
In addition to highlighting these and many more EitC schemes, a Blue Box Appeal to deliver gifts, food and vital supplies to those most in need locally this Christmas will be launched.
We’ll be asking fans to fill boxes with essential items. The Big Blue Boxes will then be given to families or individuals who often have to make heart-wrenching choices at Christmas.
The Big Blue Boxes can be made up for children, families or the elderly with items such as games, toiletries, stationery, sweets, hats, scarves and soft toys. Alternatively, you could fill a Blue Box with essential items needed to enjoy a Christmas dinner.
Suggested lists of items will be available as a printout on evertonfc.com soon.
As well as these important activities, there will be plenty of Christmas fun going on at the Club as well. The game against Leicester City on 29 December has been designated our Blue Crimbo fixture, with plenty of festivities lined up for all the family.
The players have already recorded a host of Merry Christmas messages – and provided some hilarious outtakes – so look out for that as well.
What’s more, our friends in the Everton shops have plenty of great offers up for grabs, with plenty more surprises in store as we count down to 25 December.
Keep an eye on evertonfc.com and the official Twitter and Facebook pages in the coming weeks to get involved!
