Steven Gerrard's new boys took hell of a beating from Everton youngsters! EVERTON’S hopes of making the semi-finals of the Dallas Cup were given a boost after the young Blues defeated LA Galaxy.Paul Tait’s under-19 side responded to Sunday night’s loss at the hands of reigning champions River Plate with a resounding victory over Galaxy. A lightning quick start saw Everton race into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Kieran Dowell and Ryan Ledson inside the opening 10 minutes. Delial Brewster scored the Blues’ third in the second-half and takes them into Wednesday night’s game with Japanese outfit Ryutsu-Keizai knowing another win could see them progress into the last four. The three group winners and the best runner-up will qualify for the semi-finals. “It’s a very good result for the lads and we needed it after the defeat against River Plate on Sunday,” Ledson said.  “The coaches said we needed to get out of the blocks quickly and I thought we did that. Michael Donohue has come up with a great run for Kieran Dowell to head it in. “Then, I’ve scored a good goal as well which got us off to a good start. We spoke about the move in the meeting before the game. “We didn’t think they would leave anyone on the edge of the box, and, obviously, Kieran has played it and I’ve come on the end of it - luckily enough it’s gone in.” Ledson added: “It’s great over here - there is great scenery, lovely weather and the lads are loving it over here.
