Uefa to investigate violence at stadium of Everton FC's latest Europa League opponentsFighting at Dynamo Kiev's ground last night has prompted Uefa to ponder where last 16 leg will be playedEverton fans on their European travels UEFA will open an investigation into violent scenes that marred Dynamo Kiev's Europa League tie with Guingamp last night. Everton FC have been drawn to face the Ukrainian league leaders in the last 16 of the competition and it has been suggested that the second leg on March 19 could be played behind closed doors. Crowd trouble at the NSC Olimpiyskiy stadium forced the referee to suspend play in Kiev for 15 minutes last night, as home fans were reported to have targeted away supporters before then fighting among themselves. Ukraine's Andriy Yarmolenko Uefa have yet to open a case into the game, which ended in a 3-1 win for Kiev, but are expected to start investigations later today. The European governing body have told the ECHO a decision on the venue for the second leg between Everton and Dynamo could be made as early as today. Speaking after last night's violence the Guingamp president, Bernard Desplat, is reported to have told RMC: “I saw a stadium at war with rabid dogs that wanted to fight. "There were 11 heroes in Guingamp colours on the field because organising a match in these security conditions, when the safety of a certain group is not assured, is catastrophic for football. “These are not fans, they are militiamen. Restarting play? How do you expect the players to focus on their game? It was extremely dangerous. This match could only have happened in Ukraine under these conditions.” By Phil Kirkbride / Echo

I went to Kharkiv back in 2007 and had a great 4 days. Shame about all the political unrest. Should imagine it will be a bit different now.
