Luis Suárez has dismissed suggestions that he tried to bite Manchester City’s Martín Demichelis during Barcelona’s win at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night and rounded on the English media for “making trouble”.The Uruguayan scored twice to hand Barça a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their Champions League tie but was later accused of attempting to bite Demichelis after the Argentina defender extended his arm in Suárez’s direction. Television footage appeared to show the former Liverpool striker thrusting his face towards Demichelis but did not show any conclusive evidence of biting. Uefa has since confirmed it will not be taking any action because the incident was not mentioned by the German referee Felix Brych in his report. “He [Demichelis] put his hand on my throat,” Suárez explained to Uruguayan radio station Sport 890, before making reference to his two goals against England at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. “I do not understand why they [the English media] want to do this. They want to make trouble for me. They must be hurt after what I did to them in the World Cup but they forget that I played in England and they should show me some respect.” After the game on Tuesday, Suárez – who was playing in his first match in England since joining Barcelona last summer ‑ admitted that the booing he received at Manchester City only gave him more motivation to score. “There are certain types of players like me who get more inspired, more motivated when fans boo them, it helps motivate you a bit more,” he said. Never liked him as a person but as a player he's pretty awesome.

No problem with him. I don't have interest in him as a person, only as a player, and for me, he is one of the best in world football.
I think the English press 'did' give him a hard time, deservingly so or not.

It's the racist outburst and biting which made me think he's despicable otherwise I cannot fault his footballing prowess.
