 Everton FC coach Paul Tait believes Liam Walsh and Thomas Davies have shown a glimpse of their long-term potential as the first-team midfield axis.The teenagers starred in the Blues’ under-18’s 5-0 thrashing of Liverpool in the mini-derby last weekend. Walsh was on the scoresheet as Tait’s side cruised to victory over the Reds at Finch Farm, with Calum Dyson (two), Harry Charsley and Jack Bainbridge bagging the other goals. READ: Phil Kirkbride's match report of mini-derby triumph Skillful Walsh partnered the industrious Davies, 16, in the heart of Everton’s midfield, and Tait reckons the duo can progress through the ranks together.  “We got a glimpse of what we think they are going to be,” Tait told the ECHO. “We think they are fantastic young players and if we can harness that and bring them through together then we have a real good midfield pair. “There are other midfield players in the squad and at the club but you saw on Saturday you saw the very best of them two.” Walsh, a first year scholar, joined the Blues when he was five while Davies arrived at the club at age 11.
