Lot of matches in a short space of time, so don't think we will be playing a full first team in many.

Everton 2 - Real Betis
Everton complete their pre-season matches with a win over Real Betis, with goals courtesy of Jelavic, and Mirallas, and the visiting keeper, who dropped the ball into his own net, with the Spaniards deservingly pulling one back in the dying minutes after a goal mouth scramble.
Over all, it was an unconvincing performance from Everton, with Real Betis the much busier side throughout, easing up only after Everton had gone 2 goals in front.
During the first half, Everton were unable to retain the ball, and with good pressure from Real Betis, constantly gave the ball away with sloppy passing and silly mistakes. By half time, Real Betis could have been out of sight had it not been for some disappointing finishing, together with last ditch defending, and an in form Tim Howard, who didn't deserve to concede.
It leaves Everton fans with a lot of concerns going in to the first match of the Premiership, as this new system employed by Martinez is clearly still in it's infancy in terms of how the players are coping with it, and you have to ask yourself whether he has a plan B.
Both Jelavic and Mirallas were lucky to still be on the pitch, after each lashing out at Real Betis players, and certainly had this been a league game, we would have been down to 9 men.
On a positive, Jelavic seems to have found his scoring boots, so long may that continue, but at the moment, you can't help but feel it's going to be a very interesting season, as we won't be able to give Premiership strikers the space we gave Real Betis.
An interesting note: Real Betis midfielder, Cedric Mabwati was highly impressive, and possibly the man of the match. The 21 year old joined Betis last month (July 2013) after buying out his own Numancia contract for a mere €1.20 (not million). Now 'that' is what you call a signing.

Shocking display from Everton especially in the 1st half where there was more holes in the defence than a sieve. Great to Jela carrying on his pre season form and i hope he takes it into the new season. The defending is very worrying though, were already turning into Wigan MkII and if we play like that against Norwich next week then were in serious trouble
