1st lets get away from the match the opposition is very good and were not likely to come up against much like that during the season. The lack of tactical nous from the manager was shocking, everyone could plainly see it wasnt working with Ronaldo breaking the high line for the 10th time to score. I know we play in blue and your the manager but were not ***** Wigan, Roberto. What was a solid back 4 last yr now looks looser than a whores knickers. More i look at his teams the more worried i get for the new season. Highlights were the impressive form of Mirallas and Jelavic comfirming what we already know, he is quite clearly the best striker at the club I think there are positives and negatives to be had. I think our defence looks very weak at the moment. Madrid sat on our defensive line and broke through it with ease every time we were caught up field. Ronaldo is one of the quickest players in world football, so for our defence to sit high was inviting trouble. When Everton attacked they did so without thought for Madrid's counter attack and we were constantly exposed to the point where I thought Ronaldo was close to laughter. We had one of the best defences in the best football league, but now we look uncertain. Positives, I think we are passing the ball well, and look confident in possession, although some of the passing in defence was verging on suicidal, especially from Howard. They could do with passing the ball much more firmly, as many times this preseason they've under hit it and lost possession in dangerous areas. We looked a lot fitter last night than we did against Juventus. I'm disappointed with our final ball and movement in attack though. If you watch Ronaldo or Kaka, they will surge and draw players out of position, where we seem to be waiting for a Baines of Coleman cross too often. Referee wise, I thought they favoured Madrid throughout, and we were never going to win.

I thought we did ok considering we could have scored 2 more and took their confidence away had the penalty been given and the goal not disallowed. When you look how often the Juventus lad manhandles Anichebe without recourse it's double standards to disallow the goal. We also had a goal disallowed in that game too. According to some we aren't even playing for 3rd now but instead playing for 5th or 6th.

I've just checked the replay and their second goal should have been ruled offside as Ozil is clearly offside when Ronaldo passes it to him. Baines was also careless too, as if you look, he casually runs back and interferes with the defenders line, putting Ronaldo back on side.

What gets me is why the press never report things like it is when big teams are concerned. If you read any of the reports they all ignore the fact we have constantly been ***** over by the refs, friendly or not, and the changing of the rules in this comp to give Gallaxy a 3rd place play off is a joke. As a team we are always polite and say nothing where other clubs would say exactly what they felt. It makes you feel a bit like a side salad just there to make the main course look good.
