Everton Ladies’ star Alex Greenwood has made the final squad for England’s upcoming friendly against Germany at Wembley Stadium on 23 November. The fixture, which marks the first time the Lionesses have played at the venue since its refurbishment, is set to be watched by a record crowd of 55,000. The clash continues Mark Sampson preparations for next year's World Cup in Canada, a tournament that Germany have won twice previously in 2003 and 2007. The road to North America has seen England collect 10 wins from as many games during qualifying, in what has been goal-laden campaign, with 52 plundered and just a single effort conceded. The 21-year-old Greenwood – a product of the Blues’ Centre of Excellence – will be hopeful of adding to her own international scoring tally following her first goal for England in last September’s 10-0 demolition of Montenegro. The defender will face competition for a starting berth in the side, with University of South Florida’s Demi Stokes and Chelsea’s Claire Rafferty also vying for the left-back spot.

Well done that young lady, I'm sure she will be an asset to the England team
