Mirallas Tops Goal Of The Season Vote Kevin Mirallas’ stunning solo strike against Stoke City has won the Everton Goal of the Season award for 2012/13. The Belgian’s mazy dribble at Goodison Park in March came out on top, as guests attending the End of Season Awards evening decided their favourite by a clap-o-meter. Mirallas’ goal received the loudest reception inside St George’s Hall, narrowly ahead of Leighton Baines’ arrow-like free-kick at Newcastle in January and Leon Osman’s fine volley against Manchester City at Goodison Park in March. After collecting his award, the 25-year-old described it as the best goal he had ever netted in his professional career. Speaking to evertontv, Mirallas said: “It was the best goal I scored this season, possibly the best in my career. “I’ve managed to score a few goals this season and that is good. “I’ve had a few injuries but hopefully next year will be great for me.” After hitting a brace against West Ham United last weekend, Mirallas has now scored an impressive 10 goals during his maiden season in English football.
