Leicester City news: Playing in Prem everyone's dream, says Konchesky It is nearly four years since Paul Konchesky last graced the Premier League but he feels the standard and quality has risen in that short time. The 33-year-old spent 12 seasons in the Premier League but before the start of this season Konchesky's last appearance in the top flight came for Liverpool on January 5, 2011, in a 3-1 defeat at Blackburn. Now the England defender is back with Leicester City and he feels the Premier League has really improved. "It has changed," he said. "The money has changed, what teams are spending and people are earning. "I just think the players in the Premier are much bigger and more exciting. "It just shows how big and how good the Premier League really is. "Everyone wants to come here and play in the Premier League. That is shown by the quality of players coming over. "I just want to keep playing for Leicester because playing in the Premier League is everyone's dream." Konchesky believes City have already demonstrated they deserve to be competing at Premier League level and said there was still more to come from City's young squad. "We are in the league by merit," he said. "We deserve to be there. "Time will tell if we are good enough. We are only seven games in and we have a long way to go. There is much more to come from us. "We are just getting used to the Premier League as well." While several of the squad have been away on international duty, Konchesky said the rest of the squad had taken a short break but were now working hard in preparation for the trip to Newcastle at the weekend. "We will get our head down for the Newcastle game and wait for the return of the lads from internationals. "We will take the foot off the gas for a couple of days but then be straight back on it. We are still working to get ready for Newcastle."
