Scotland: Matt Gilks called up to replace Allan McGregor Burnley goalkeeper Matt Gilks has been brought into Scotland manager Gordon Strachan's squad as a replacement for Hull City's Allan McGregor. McGregor was ruled out of Scotland's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Georgia and Poland after being sidelined for six weeks with a shoulder injury. The 32-year-old Gilks has played once, in the League Cup, since moving to Turf Moor from Blackpool in the summer. Gilks, who has three caps, is likely to be third choice in Strachan's squad. Cardiff City's David Marshall, who started ahead of McGregor in Scotland's opening Group D game in Germany, will compete for the number one jersey with Celtic's in-form Craig Gordon. Gilks joined Burnley after their promotion to England's Premier League but has had to bide his time behind Tom Heaton, who has made the position his own since signing from Bristol City in summer 2013.
