Last seasons Manager Of The Year remains unemployed - apart from media punditry of course. There are a number of possible 'good fit' clubs in the Premier League: Newcastle Utd: Alan pardew continues to defy the odds(and credibility) at St.James'. Pulis might not offer the Geordies much in the way of attacking flair but he could get a pretty talented squad well up in the league placings. The Chairman might be the problem.... Queens Park Rangers: Dodgy Harry has failed to get his expensive collection of rejects and OAPs performing to Premiership standards, or indeed as a team. Pulis might have trouble motivating this changing room if he went to Loftus Rd. Too many egos. The outside possibility of QPR falling foul of the FA over their financial position (which, in extremis, could be Non-League status as well as a fine) might make this a suspect position to take on. Stoke City: Results aren't what they could be and there's a chance Tony Pulis could resume his love-in with their Chairman.....weirder things happen in the world of TP. Everton: Yeah, well, errrm how do I put this? I like Martinez and he was no.2 on my wish list when TP left Palace BUT wtf is he doing at the moment? Whilst I think Martinez is a sound investment for the long term, you have to admit that the deficiencies shown by Everton lately(mostly in defence but also in front of goal) are exactly what Pulis could probably get sorted in a couple of weeks. Can't see him just taking a Defensive Coach's job though........

Can't see him just taking a Defensive Coach's job though........ Pulis is an old head but I don't think he would land any of the top jobs given recent employment history and there are other good managers not managing, such as David Moyes for an obvious example. If we did bring in a defensive coach it would undermine our current manager so it won't happen. We have some of the best defenders in the game playing for us, so the problem isn't the way they are being coached, as why would Martinez change a good thing? We are just going through a bad spell of occurences that will hopefully brush off. Distin isn't finished by any means and Stones getting injured is an opportunity to prove that.

I was being a tad provocative including The Toffees in the list....would have been fairer to have included Cardiff( except they're not PL). Pulis and Tan could be a workable combo and they've been seen together........

Pulis and Tan could be a workable combo and they've been seen together........ I don't like to see managers sacked / leave half way through a season. In my opinion, if you hire a guy you do so because 'long term' you have faith in him. The biggest problem Everton fans have is that our expectations are constantly lifted, which I suppose is better than never having any. Some teams realize that playing in the top league is quite a prize, and that's something the big clubs fans take for granted. I like Pulis, and was surprised to see him leave Stoke. His style of play was often criticized, but if I'm honest I thought they played strong football and many a time caused us no end of problems.
