Croydon Calling: 2-3 again, What were the odds eh?(rhetorical...no need to Google them). What an odd game that was. I thought we were toast early on, your lot were all over us like a rash and our defending was way to deep and er, basically inept. Warnock got us pushed up and things started to click. 1-1 was almost fair at half time but, lwt's face it, Everton should have been a goal or two clear after that start. What happened to you after we scored our second? We got lucky there but you did the same sort of wierd metamorphosis as Liverpool did at our place and threw the defensive manual away. 1-3 and despite coming in with about 25% possession we were looking good value for it....the trick is to do something with that ball when you've got it. Also helps, of course, if you've a 'keeper on form; embaressing difference today between Howard & Speroni. Palace are excelling at time-wasting so 6 minutes wasn't a shock but By God, they lasted an age.....rather like yourselves against Wolfburg, we took our chances and rode our luck today. There will be little to choose between our teams come the end of the season and I'd probably say that you've got some stressful times to endure unless Martinez changes his defensive ideas.Warnock still unbeaten at Palace. We are still lacking something(like the ability to start a match strongly) bit this win signals both intent and ability to achieve a solid Premiership position again this season. Good luck with your campaigns at home and in Europe...you're going to need it.

LOST 3 2 not happy. Howard needs to be hung drawn and quatered after that. The amount of ***** ups he has been doing lately is a joke. I can't remember how long it's been since we had such a terrible problem keeping goals out. We've now let 13 goals in 5 games which is a disgrace and more than any other team. I don't know about Martinez needing to have a word it's ***** Kenwright who needs to have a word. I have to agree mate. I love Tim Howard but don't know what has got into him lately he seems all over the place . We understand he can't be perfect at every match, but he is just doing stupid stuff and for a man of his experience, this just shouldn't be happening. Everton need to get their act together and fast, there are many frustrated and angry fans out there right now

Hi and welcome You make very good and fair points, we start off well as usual, have all the majority of the possession and then throw it all away. Also you're right, our defence is sh1te to say the least and this has to be sorted immediately. Tim Howard is so good and so experienced, but don't know what has got into him lately, he made twelve amazing saves against Wolfsburg and then plays so bad the next. Of course you don't expect for any player to be perfect all the time, but his goalkeeping is crazy to say the least at the moment. Roberto has to have some strong words with the players and with Tim Howard and get this mess sorted out now, otherwise we could be looking at relegation. Fair play to Crystal Palace , they took advantage of our crap play and silly mistakes and scored - we only have ourselves to blame.

I love Neil Warnock, so at least it was he who took the points, but I'm losing confidence in our teams ability to assess situations and deal with them.
Much was made of our victory over Wolfsburg, but at 3-0 up, or 4-0 up, substitutions could have been made to ensure continuity and fresh legs.
I mention fresh legs, as that is bound to be the excuse, but if we are to succeed as a team, we must be able to handle all these matches.
I see a big focus on attack in our coaching staff, but I also see a failure to recognize when things aren't working, and we tend to keep doing the same thing, or at least a variation of the same thing.
I keep saying it, but we are not getting consistency.
Yes, we are getting good performances occasionally, but without consistency we leave ourselves vulnerable, and under David Moyes we had that consistency.
For me, we played 'great' football under Moyes, so I don't buy into this thing that Martinez has suddenly transformed our footballing style. That is something created by people who don't watch every game, such as the press, and many Internet fans.
True watchers of the game will state that under Moyes our team were solid, and dependable. Yes, that team is now getting older, and we took the occasional beating, but for a decade we played to our strengths 'all over the pitch'.
Howard is extremely inconsistent. One minute he is great the next a liability, and yet our option, is another keeper who is unable to push for that place.
I don't think we are playing as a unit. Take a look at Chelsea, and how they play, then take a look at us.
Far too many people saying Martinez is in line for Barcelona or Madrid.
I'd say Barcelona and Madrid are secretly saying 'come back in 20 years' when he actually has the management skills to be able to acknowledge a full pitch of players in his tactical approach, and not just the final third.
We 'might' play good football, but I 'don't' think we are in good hands.
Many a boxer danced around a ring only to get knocked out when it came to the business end.

I think we're the opposite from when we were under Moyes. Under Moyes, I thought we were too defensive now we're too attacking. I cannot believe I'm saying this but he needs to focus on defence 1st and attack later. We've got goals in us so no worries there unfortunately we've got them going in the other way too.BTW, I don't think we're all that going forward. When we were 1-0 up it was if there were just 2 mins left in the game and we passed it around as if job done. Very frustrating. 1st time in 26 years that I'm not going to watch the derby as I see us getting slaughtered again.
