"We're out for victory" says Hinnigan Everton Ladies captain Michelle Hinnigan says a win over rivals Liverpool on Thursday evening would be a huge boost in the Blues' bid to avoid relegation. With just six games remaining, the Toffees sit bottom of the WSL and are still searching for their first league win. But the skipper believes there will be a change in their fortunes and performances will finally turn into points. “I think luck is about to come our way and hopefully we can get the three points and pick up the momentum into the final five games,” said Hinnigan. “We haven’t won a game yet but the performances have actually been decent. It’s just the score lines. We need to be more clinical and start putting our chances away. “The 10-day gap has got us all back together, the manager has regrouped us and we’ve looked at the positives from the first half of the season. “We know Liverpool can be a tough team but we are going to go in to the game looking for the win. Three points and Merseyside bragging rights is so important for Everton and Liverpool fans and for Hinnigan, a lifelong Blue, that is no different. “A win will mean everything, especially with the position we are in at the moment,” she added. “Merseyside derbies are always a big game for ourselves, especially the local scousers. “We know how important the derbies are and we are at home so that makes it all the better and we are going into that game needing the three points. “It’ll be a great game, hopefully we will get more fans down and I’m sure it’ll be a good one.”

Our womens team are bottom of the table at the moment and Liverpool are 2nd so don't fancy their chances much. Maybe Jagielka and Distin could play for them.

Everton Ladies 2-2 Liverpool ladies
Everton Ladies' hopes of avoiding relegation from WSL 1 were given a boost after a 2-2 draw with Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
Goals from Danielle Turner and Nikita Parris earned 10-man Everton a share of the spoils in a fiercely fought clash at The Select Security Stadium.
Everton took their time to get a foot-hold in the game but Liverpool goalkeeper Libby Stout failed to keep out Danielle Turner's corner, giving the Blues the lead on the half-hour mark.
Liverpool turned the game around with two goals either side of the break; Natasha Dowie bringing the Reds level before Kate Longhurst put the visitors ahead on 49 minutes.
Their lead didn’t last long though as Parris, who was a handful for the Red’s backline throughout the game, showed sublime skill and strength to go past challenges and fire low into the bottom corner to equalise for the Toffees.
Parris then saw red in the dying minutes after she received a second yellow for a challenge on Becky Easton but that would have no effect on the final outcome as both teams took a share of the spoils in an entertaining evening.
The result leaves Everton five points from safety with a game in hand on Notts County who currently lie seventh in the league on eight points.
