Been Linked with this lad again according to the below ,
With the transfer market more inflated than ever, bargains in this summer’s window look set to be few and far between. Exorbitant fees will be exchanged left, right and centre, and the prospect of signing a genuine star for anything under £30million will become increasingly remote.
All-the-more reason, then, to take a chance on a senior international reportedly available for just £10million.
The man in question is Chelsea’s Marco van Ginkel. Antonio Conte confirmed this week that he is free to leave the club as part of a mass loan star clear-out, and his availability has alerted a number of Premier League managers.
Everton appear to have stolen a march on other interested parties including Newcastle United and Brighton. Since joining PSV on loan in 2016, van Ginkel has gone from strength to strength, and this year’s return of 14 goals in 27 Eredivisie outings has been truly remarkable for a midfield player.
Sigurðsson, meanwhile, has stalled at Everton with just 4 goals and 3 assists in 25 Premier League appearances. Having consistently returned better tallies in his years at Swansea, the concern at Everton that the club and player may simply be a wrong fit is considerable.
Young, bright and full of running, van Ginkel has the quality to succeed in the Premier League. He has matured considerably during his time with PSV and is now ready to step up a level. Whether that’s with Everton, Newcastle, Brighton or any other, he looks set to be one of the bargains of the summer.
