Everton boss boss Marco Silva will hold crunch talks with club chiefs today. The Portuguese looks set to get the chop after a series of dismal performances. The Toffees slumped to a 2-0 defeat against relegation-threatened Norwich on Saturday, which has left Silva on the brink. According to The Mirror , Silva’s departure now looks highly likely with Everton fans eager for him to go. It’s suggested David Moyes will be ushered in to steady the ship. The Everton faithful could be heard chanting ‘sacked in the morning’ after their capitulation to the Canaries. In the aftermath, Silva wouldn’t be drawn on his future, but hinted that he fears the chop. "I think it is not the main thing to talk about the situation,” he said. “It is not the moment to talk about individual positions. "We have to look what is best for us as a club and for myself and the players as well - but always the club has to be at the top. "If you are really disappointed with the afternoon I can imagine they [fans] are as well and they have the reaction to the manager and the players. "When you lose a match, the first person they look to is the manager. Football is like that. "The message is I respect what is their feeling, for sure. “It is not the first time they felt the way they felt this afternoon."

I like Moyes, but I'm not convinced he is the right appointment.

Marco Silva will be in charge of Everton when they take on Leicester on Super Sunday, Sky Sports News understands.
Speculation has been mounting about the Everton manager's future after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at home to Norwich, after which Silva spoke with the board and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
Graffiti calling for Silva to be sacked appeared on the outside of one of the stands at Goodison Park on Monday night, and sections of the home support vocalised that feeling on Saturday as loud boos rang around the stadium.

One more unusual story concerns a possible replacement from the Brazilian game; Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus. The Daily Telegraph are reporting that Everton might look to the 65-year-old, another Portuguese, to take the reins at Goodison Park following his success winning this year’s Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent to the Champions League. There might too, be a certain kind of logic to this, in the sense that the Blues have several key South American players; Brazilians Bernard and Richarlison and Colombian Yerry Mina. So there could be an advantage in language and football culture, plus no one can say he’s not a winner.
More worryingly though, the Telegraph also claim that the board are still very reluctant to make a change in manager at all, and are very much inclined to give Silva even more time than next weekend’s game at Leicester City. That’s very concerning to hear.
