Everton’s Carabao Cup third round tie with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough will be played on Tuesday 24 September and kick-off at 7.45pm. Marco Silva’s side beat Lincoln City 4-2 in round two and were subsequently paired in the draw with Wednesday, who progressed courtesy of an Atdhe Nuhiu goal deep into stoppage time at Rotherham United. Everton’s most recent meeting with the Yorkshire club was in the same round of the same competition in September 2007. Two goals from James McFadden and one from Yakubu secured a 3-0 win for the Blues 12 years ago.

Everton will receive approximately 4,500 tickets for the Blues' Carabao Cup third round tie with Sheffield Wednesday later this month.
Marco Silva's side travel to Hillsborough on Tuesday 24 September [7.45pm] after defeating Lincoln City 4-2 in round two last week.
Tickets for Everton's first meeting with Wednesday since September 2007 will cost £20 adults, £15 over 65s and under-21s, £10 under-17s and £5 under-11s.
An on-sale date and purchasing criteria will be announced on evertonfc.com in due course.
Everton won their most recent game against the Yorkshire club, in the same round of the same competition in September 2007, when two goals from James McFadden and one from Yakubu secured a 3-0 success for David Moyes's side.

Hopefully we will again field a strong side Do we know what one is? This game has become huge all of a sudden. This is a must win game now for Silva otherwise his stock will tumble with the fans. We should beat them on paper but it rarely works out that way.
