According to the reports from the Mirror as cited by Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton’s fullback Lucas Digne in the summer. However, Everton wants cash plus Danny Rose involved in the deal. It is believed that Mauricio Pochettino wanted Digne last summer as well when Barcelona were looking to ship him away from the club, but the Argentine manager was cash strapped then . Everton won the race for him in the summer of 2018, and the Frenchman has been outstanding for the Merseyside club. Now it’s being said that Pochettino will have the cash to spend after he guided Spurs to a Champions League finals against all the odds.
Digne contributed with four goals and five assists in all competitions last season and Everton now believe that his value has doubled from the £18m they paid for Barcelona last season. They also should be in a strong position to negotiate for the 25-year-old as he has his contract at Goodison Park until 2023.
