João Pedro Sousa, Marco Silva's right hand man left Everton to become Famalicão’s new manager. Rumour has it that his replacement could be ex Arsenal & Fulham player Luis Boa Morte. "OK" you may think, but this is where it gets interesting ......... In 2004, after playing for Fulham, against Everton in the FA Cup 4th Round, Boa Morte asked the Football Association to intervene after claiming he was racially abused by Duncan Ferguson. Boa Morte stated he was 'man-handled' by Ferguson and subjected to 'racist comments'. "Things happened when the referee was giving a yellow card at the other end of the pitch," said Boa Morte. "Ferguson just came towards me and started offending me with racist abuse and said something I cannot put up with. He cannot call me a 'black ****' while he is playing football. He should at least respect the black players in his team.
"It is something I cannot allow someone to do. I want the FA to investigate. I am really angry about what happened. I have never had to suffer anything like this before in my whole career."He also said he was pushed and punched by the striker but that the racism was worse. It wasn't the first time Boa Morte had been embroiled in racist slurs while playing for Fulham against Everton either. At Craven Cottage on 10th January 2004, during a Premier League game in which Fulham won, he was apparently abused by Everton's away fans, and had a cigarette lighter and programmes thrown at him. It's fair to say this would be a very interesting appointment for Marco Silva, given the above, but at this stage it's just a rumour from Portuguese news outlet 'Record', but as they say, time will tell.

Could be tasty on the bench next season if it comes true That was all a long time ago. I think he's worked with Silva before and you'd have to think as adults there'd be no fallout.
