KEY STATS, FACTS AND MILESTONESSunday's clash will be the 100th league meeting between Everton and Liverpool at Anfield and the Blues' 199th league game against the Reds overall. Aston Villa are the only team Everton have played more in the league (202 times).
Everton have never played Liverpool on December 2. The Blues have, however, won the past three matches they have contested on this date - the most recent was a 2-0 home victory over Huddersfield Town last year.
Perhaps Everton’s most intriguing match on this date came in 1963. The Toffees, who were champions of England, met Scottish title winners Glasgow Rangers at Goodison Park in the second leg of an unofficial British Championship match. Everton won 3-1 at Ibrox in November before battling out at 1-1 draw at Goodison on December 2 – therefore winning the tie 4-2 on aggregate. Neither match is classed as an official first-team fixture.
If Seamus Coleman features it will mark 228th league appearance for Everton - the same total achieved by the Golden Vision, Alex Young.
Jordan Pickford is in line to play 52nd consecutive game for Everton in the Premier League. He would become only the 12th Toffees player to rack up that many successive Premier League appearances.
If Michael Keane lines up at Anfield, it will be his 50th start for Everton in all competitions.
ONE TO WATCH: Georginio Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum has proved to be an astute signing for Liverpool, having been brought in from Newcastle United in 2016. The powerful midfielder has been an ever-present for Jurgen Klopp’s side this in the top-flight season – producing a series of solid performances in the Reds’ engine room. The 28-year-old boasts at eye for goal, too. A former Dutch player of the year during his time with PSV Eindhoven, he has hit 10 goals in 53 appearances for the Holland national team.
