Everton vs Rotherham United
Team news Everton captain Phil Jagielka serves the final match of his three-game suspension, while Richarlison also misses out following his sending off at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Deadline day signings Bernard and Kurt Zouma both made their Blues debuts late on at the Vitality Stadium and could be in line for further action against the Championship Millers.
Morgan Schneiderlin sat out the weekend's trip to the south coast due to the muscle injury he suffered against Southampton, while Michael Keane is out for “three to four weeks” with a hairline skull fracture sustained against the Cherries.
Yerry Mina (foot), Andre Gomes (hamstring) and James McCarthy (broken leg) are yet to feature this season.
Rotherham boss Paul Warne has a near full squad to choose from but has confirmed he will make a number of changes from Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Millwall.
What They Said: Kurt Zouma
“It will be a tough game - Rotherham will come and give 100 per cent. This type of game is always tough, we need to start it well and be really focused on our game and the way we want to play. We can’t give them chances. We have to be very focused and respect them.
“The attitude and spirit in our squad is very good and every player in the team will want to win and give everything for the team.”

VAR History is set to be made at Goodison Park with Everton versus Rotherham one of four second round matches to be allocated Video Assistant Referees (VAR).
It will be the first time the technology has been used in a game featuring the Blues.
The use of VAR comes as part of the EFL’s commitment to trial the technology at selected fixtures throughout this season’s competition.
Fans in the stadium will be kept abreast of in-game developments via a notification process, with video officials based remotely at Stockley Park set to assist the referee in four match-changing situations; goals, penalty decisions, the awarding of direct red cards and mistaken identity.
The emphasis of the EFL’s experiment, part of a wider trial taking place in England, is to focus on clear and obvious errors.
In this way, the system aims to minimise any interference with the flow of the game and maximise the advantages of reviewing the video replays.
As was the case at the recent World Cup in Russia, the EFL rules declare the original decision of the referee on the pitch can only be changed if a video review shows a clear and obvious error.
The appointed VAR official for the game is Premier League referee Kevin Friend.
