Marco Silva is set to make his third Everton signing of the summer after beating off competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and West Ham, plus both Milan clubs, to snap up Brazilian star Bernard on a free transfer. Bernard, who now just needs to acquire a work permit, will join fellow new recruits Richarlison (£40m) and Lucas Digne (£18m) at Goodison Park ahead of the club’s opening day clash away to top-flight new boys Wolves at Molineux on Saturday evening. Everton fans will no doubt be rubbing their hands with glee at the imminent arrival of another exciting attacking player who will look to link up with his fellow countryman Richarlison, who recently became the Toffees’ record signing following his switch from Watford, where he previously worked under Silva. Bernard, 25, previously spent five years at Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk following a £21.5m move from Atletico Mineiro. He enjoyed a successful spell in Ukraine, winning three league titles and six domestic cups, scoring 28 goals in 157 games. He’s also won 14 international caps for Brazil, and played in the 2014 World Cup on home soil, although he was not part of the 2018 edition in Russia. The Mirror reports that Bernard, who can play on either wing or just behind the striker, will pen a five year deal with Everton in the next 24 hours.

will be great signing , will sign with £45 million release clause so massive profit if he is brilliant & someone buys him , about £120k per week is muted which isn't bad considering its a free signing for a quality player

I read he was a winger, and we've just spent £40m on one, and also just bought Walcott. If he can play box to box, fine, but for me our priorities are all central.
