After a 12 month delay Everton fans can look forward to seeing the real Arouna Kone.
That is the promise made by the man himself as he prepares to return to pre-season with the Blues.
Kone’s first season at Goodison was wrecked by a knee injury which required surgery.
Before that setback the Ivorian felt he’d been approaching his best form.
He told evertonfc.com: “I was working hard at the time when I hit the post against Hull and it was really frustrating at that moment to get injured, because I realised the fans were still waiting - and the manager and his staff - to see the best of me in an Everton shirt.
“I felt around that time I was getting into shape and getting into a bit of form on the training pitch. For me, it's now about working hard and making sure I come back at my top level of form so fans can actually see something of the real Arouna Kone, the best Arouna Kone.”
Former Wigan man Kone remains confident he can etch his own mark upon Everton’s fortunes this term.
He continued: “It's going to mean an awful lot to me to wear that shirt next season because I've not yet written any history, I've not made my mark on Everton or created my own chapter of the story that is this Club.
“The season ahead, for me, is one where I have to prove my worth as a player and I accept that challenge and I'm ready to take that challenge on.”

Yes he is fasting. Am sure its very good for his progress Still not ready by all accounts.
So far we have sold all our senior strikers and let Vellios go, meaning that strictly speaking, unless we are to class Naisy and Kev as out and out strikers, we have a grand total of 'none' in the fit and happy senior striker stakes.

Any striker worth his salt 'must' be thinking "I can make that position mine" so where are the applicants lol.
