It was an improvement yes , but it only papers over the cracks as before. A good performance on the whole and the result went with it , but come next week and Stoke away , to expect the same level of performance is a very optimistic. I expect another dire inept showing , until major changes are made from top to bottom , things will never really change for the better. Yes a good 3pts , but let's not think we are on the up just yet I think we're on the up, but only in that we couldn't get worse than Burnley or Watford performances. In all honesty, the first half at Burnley up to scoring was ok, but it fell away sharply, and the second half was a disgrace. I'm convinced we've not sorted everything out, far from it, but I'm calling the Brighton game based on what I saw, and from what's gone before it, and it's certainly better. Whether that improvement continues we'll see at Stoke as you say. And actually, even if we win at Stoke, unlikely as that may be, it would still be papering over the cracks. Fundamental change is needed. I'm not one for calling out the entire squad, I actually believe a spine of Pickford, Baines, Jags (for now), Coleman, Rooney, Gueye, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Tosun and one or two of the brighter kids (DCL for example, and Davies will come again, tho on poor run of form atm) has great potential. We need a Centre Back that calms and improves Keane, we need LB cover, we need a creative midfielder (oh for a Mata or Fabregas type) and we need Bolasie to be on top form or get another tricky winger. The needs are there, but someone other than Allardyce could get more out of this squad than he can, and add a few not loads, and we're dancing.....ever the optimist, ever the Evertonian! Don't you love it when we finally win a game, and start getting all optimistic again?
