Southampton 0-0 StokeSouthampton slipped to 17th in the Premier League after a goalless draw with relegation rivals Stoke City. The Saints made it a new Premier League club record of eight consecutive home matches without a win to edge a point clear of the bottom three. Stoke remain in the relegation zone having won just once in their past 10 Premier League games. Badou Ndiaye had the best chance of a poor first half for the visitors, with Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy keeping out his header from Xherdan Shaqiri's cross just before the break. Southampton enjoyed a better second half but Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland made saves from the likes of Josh Sims, Cedric Soares and Nathan Redmond. Stoke were fortunate Southampton substitute Sofiane Boufal failed to find the target with a free header with his first touch inside the final 15 minutes. More to follow. What's next? Southampton travel to Newcastle next Saturday 10 March (15:00 GMT), while Stoke have an extra two days to prepare for the visit of Premier League leaders Manchester City (20:00 GMT). BBC
