Everton loanee Muhamed Besic again impressed as Middlesbrough fought out a 3-3 Championship thriller with north-east rivals Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Besic’s sumptuous through ball set up Patrick Bamford to put Boro 3-2 ahead on 68 minutes. The goal looked set to be the winner for Tony Pulis’ men, only for Callum McManaman to equalise for the Black Cats in the sixth minute of added time. Tyias Browning was an unused substitute for Sunderland. Joe Williams played 90 minutes as Barnsley won 2-0 at Birmingham City in a crucial Championship clash. The win lifts the Tykes out of the relegation places, while Birmingham fall into the drop zone. Antonee Robinson featured for Bolton in their 0-0 stalemate with Norwich City at Carrow Road, while Callum Connolly also played the full 90 minutes as Ipswich Town won 1-0 at Preston North End, Mustapha Carayol getting the only goal. Kieran Dowell was an unused substitute in Nottingham Forest's impressive 5-2 success against QPR at Loftus Road, as was Matthew Pennington in Leeds United's 1-0 win against Brentford at Elland Road. In League Two, goalkeeper Louis Gray was also on the bench as Carlisle United won 1-0 at Yeovil Town – Blues Academy graduate Hallam Hope hitting the winner. Away from these shores, Ademola Lookman started as RB Leipzig fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Cologne in the German Bundesliga. Kevin Mirallas, meanwhile, was due to line up for Olympiakos in their top-of-the-table clash at PAOK, but the game was abandoned due to crowd violence. Everton FC
