Muhamed Besic impressed on his debut for Middlesbrough on Saturday, despite Tony Pulis’ side being edged out 1-0 at Cardiff City. Besic played for just over an hour at the Cardiff City Stadium, and drew praise from Boro fans after a battling display against the Championship high-flyers. Sean Morrison’s first-half header proved the difference between the sides. Defender Callum Connolly played the full game as Ipswich Town drew 1-1 at Norwich City in a dramatic East Anglia derby. The Tractor Boys thought they’d snatched victory when Luke Chambers headed home in the 89th minute, only for Timm Klose to rescue a point for Norwich deep into added time. Defender Matthew Pennington got 90 minutes under his belt as Leeds United came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Bristol City at Elland Road on Sunday. Left-back Antonee Robinson played the full game as Bolton Wanderers were beaten 2-0 by Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Midfielder Kieran Dowell, meanwhile, came on as an 89th-minute substitute as his Nottingham Forest side drew 0-0 at Burton Albion. Tyias Browning played the first 45 minutes as Sunderland went down 2-0 at Brentford. Boris Mathis was an unused substitute as League One Northampton Town drew 2-2 at Scunthorpe United. In League Two, goalkeeper Louis Gray was also on the bench as Carlisle United beat Chesterfield 2-0 at Brunton Park. Away from these shores, Sandro Ramirez came on as a 43rd-minute substitute as Sevilla bagged their third straight win as they saw off Las Palmas 2-1 in La Liga. Kevin Mirallas started as Olympiakos kept up the chase at the top of the Greek Superleague with a 1-0 win at home to Panionios. Olympiakos are in third position, six points behind leaders PAOK. Ademola Lookman is hoping to feature for RB Leipzig on Monday night when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
