FORM Everton are looking to end a run of four straight defeats when they face Albion. Bournemouth, Manchester United and Spurs have taken the points in the Blues’ past three Premier League outings, with Liverpool reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup at the Toffees expense.
Prior to that run, Everton picked up a point against West Brom at the Hawthorns on Boxing Day.
The Baggies, meanwhile, picked up only their fourth and fifth wins of the season in their past two games against Exeter City and Brighton, in the FA Cup and league respectively.
Having opened the campaign with successive triumphs over Bournemouth and Burnley, before seeing off Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup, Albion have struggled over the course of the season and replaced manager Tony Pulis with Alan Pardew.
Goals from defenders Jonny Evans and Dawson sealed a first victory for the former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss when they beat the Seagulls at the Hawthorns last weekend.
ONE TO WATCH: JAY RODRIGUEZ
The former Burnley forward joined the Baggies in a £12million deal over the summer from Southampton to boost their striking options. And while the team has struggled, he has chipped in with five goals in his 25 appearances so far this season.
Pacey and direct, he has the ability to play across the frontline and featured in a support role for lead striker Salomon Rondon when the Blues visited the Hawthorns on Boxing Day.
The heat map below shows the freedom Rodriguez had to affect the game knowing his Venezuelan international teammate was leading the line.
LAST TIME OUT: Everton 3-0 West Brom
Everton were in decent form back in March 2017, losing just twice in their previous 10 games before the visit of West Brom to Goodison.
And they swept the Baggies away with three unanswered goals at the Grand Old Lady. After Kevin Mirallas had opened the scoring, Morgan Schneiderlin registered his first goal for the Club, turning home Romelu Lukaku’s pass.
A fifth straight home win was secured when Lukaku headed home late on.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE: Stuart Attwell
Warwickshire man Attwell takes charge of his 18th game of the season when he oversees proceedings at Goodison Park on Saturday.
He has taken charge of games from Football League Trophy ties to Premier League fixtures, and has handed out 57 yellow cards. Attwell’s one and only red card so far was in Burnley’s 1-1 draw with West Ham back in October when Andy Carroll was sent for an early bath.
