French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has still to win over many fans at Goodison Park. The former Southampton and Man United star hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons recently. Reports filtered out of Finch Farm that, along with Kevin Mirallas, Morgan Schneiderlin had had a bust up at Everton training. That report has since proven to be less than accurate, yet the mud appears to have stuck on Schneiderlin. Comment on David Unsworth On Friday Sky Sports have fresh quotes from Schneiderlin about his current situation at Everton. Schneiderlin has taken aim at former Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth over his current relationship with the Everton fans. The midfielder has said: I was surprised that this story came out because I didn’t really do anything. It was the choice of the manager not to put me in the squad, it was not because I behaved bad or something. It was just a choice for him [Unsworth]. For myself I was surprised but there will always be some people who are going to believe what they read in the press. My only thing is to show them on the pitch that I’m 100 per cent focused. I can assure everyone that I am focused, that I’m just thinking about Everton and to improve the results and myself everyday. Since Sam Allardyce’s appointment at Everton, Schneiderlin has played every game for the Toffees. Everton have four wins and a draw under Big Sam.

Schneiderlin is playing like a donkey at the moment - he’s slow to get to the ball; gives away a lot of free kicks just outside the box through late tackles; seems to pass backwards or sideways most of the time; and doesn’t appear to create too many chances.

To be fair I think he’s been improving of late, since he got back into the side. He’s still not doing enough on the creative side for me though. It appears at times as though he is afraid to try anything more than the short simple pass, probably a hangover from earlier in the season where a lot of his passes were awful and put teammates in trouble and cost the team.

None of our players are creating chances because our striker is always on his own surrounded by defenders. We have to change our tactics if we want more creativity from players.
