Walsh Heads To Birmingham On LoanMidfielder joins Harry Redknapp's Blues until January.Liam Walsh has joined Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City on loan until January. The 19-year-old was a key figure in Everton's Premier League 2 title-winning team last season and was shortlisted for the competition's player of the year award. Midfielder Walsh spent the second half of the 2015/16 campaign with League Two Yeovil Town, where he played 17 times and scored once. The Huyton-born player has been on Everton’s books since he was five years old and has been capped by England at both Under-17 and Under-18 level. He has featured twice for David Unsworth’s Under-23s this season, most recently in last week’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea. Ambitious Birmingham have made a slow start to the season and currently sit 20th in the Championship. Nevertheless, in addition to bringing in Walsh on transfer deadline day, the Midlands club broke their transfer record to sign Brentford’s Spanish playmaker Jota for more than £6million. Walsh, who will stay at St Andrew’s until the New Year, could potentially make his Birmingham debut when Redknapp takes his side to Norwich City on Saturday 9 September.

Birmingham City loan youngster Liam Walsh has returned to train with parent club Everton.
The 20-year-old remains registered to play for Blues but without any sign of imminent first team football he will also be able to play Under 23 games for Everton.
He remains eligible for Birmingham if boss Steve Cotterill wants to pick him.
Walsh was due to return to Merseyside in early January anyway but does so now having made just three appearances for Blues.
