When they scored last night all my years supporting Everton caused me to fear what would happen in the second half. It's different now though! The 'Thor score'; Pickford's penalty save and the 'keep ball' interlude at the end that ruined the resolve of the players and fans of the Banana Splits. Welcome to the new and improved Everton Football Club 😀 COYB

I'm not convinced just yet that we have a new Everton. We still need the board to back the manager after selling Lukaku. If we take away Gylfi's goal the pen was enough for them so I don't trust Williams. A few more players and we might have something but at the moment we're falling short.

We need to be better at controlling the game from first to last but I'm glad you're enjoying the new and improved Everton ,my man.

Welcome to the new and improved Everton Football Club 😀 COYB We won't see the finished article for a while, but I'm keeping fingers crossed we start to get better over the next few months and keep picking the points up. If we analyse things, there's always good and bad, so trying not to over analyse anything at the minute. We did well on the night, and Koeman will no doubt pick up on the bad bits and tell the players. There were only 3 things that stood out to me as bad, though. Baines could have been braver when closing down the ball that they scored from, and that was a problem we faced under Martinez, allowing teams to shoot from the edge of the box. I've not seen it much since we utilised 2 defensive midfielders, but the defenders still need to be sharper. The other two were Calvert-Lewin trying to be clever which led to Williams being clumbsy in the box giving the penalty away. We need a striker who is going to put the finishing touch to things.

There's still time to bring players in, but whether we will tick all boxes is another story. Sandro not being fit doesn't help, as it means Koeman can't tell what contribution he'll make and the same goes for Klaassen.
