It's great to be back with the blues, but I'm concerned about the amount of hype surrounding the club in regards to a top 4/5 finish. We have not played well when it comes to going forward and we are yet to see signs of that even coming close.
We need to bring in a top 20-30 goal a season striker, and its all gone quiet again with gylfi. We haven't spent anything in terms of net and we need to get 2 over the line and fast.
Hadjuk split and man city next. I honestly fear for us not progressing to the group stages. Let's face facts, Ruzembrok could and should of got 1 possibly 2 away goals. Steve Walsh needs to show us what he's here for now, especially seeing Lukaku run the show for them yesterday.
2 good attacking options needed......gylfi and ????

Welcome mattyefc87 , hope you enjoy the forum. Yes we need a striker , but they are a bit thin on the ground now. I think we should have gone for Vardy ealier in the season , miised out on Hernandez who went to West Ham , I think both could have done a decent job for us. I think Oxlade-Chamberlain could give us a bit of pace etc. , but no rumours on that front. Siggurdson will join eventually , but do we really want him, if we did , surely the deal would have been done by now. We are missing Bolasie and hopefully he will be back before xmas and up to speed.....

Hi Matty, and welcome to Love Everton. I think a top 4 or 5 finish is a big ask for a team that's just sold 'possibly' the best Striker in the league to the team that finished one place above us. We've weakened our own squad and strengthened that of our nearest rival for a top 4 place. Add to that we've also no Ross Barkley, who like him or not, does knit things together. As soon as we'd sold Lukaku, we gave Phil Jagielka a contract extension, when I'd have wanted to replace him, and signed Cuco Martina on a free, despite having Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny, and the soon to return Seamus Coleman. It's not like Martina was doing well elsewhere, so to me it indicates a tightening of the purse strings. The feel good factor fans had from early transfer business is wearing thin, and despite a few people saying 'net spend' is irrelevant, it's clear to fans that the club have not brought the players in that will challenge Top 4. Whether we do or not remains to be seen, but at the moment we're not playing well, and there are big matches ahead.

We wouldn't be Everton if everything went to plan would we?
