toffeeowl What did you think of tonight's match mate? Thought it was a very good team performance. Hopefully as the players get used to playing with each other and the likes of Sandro and Gylfi get fully match fit then we'll be a bit more adventurous but at the present time I'm more than happy. I have a feeling come the end of the season it's more likely to be a point gained rather than two points lost in relation to most other teams going to the Etihad. I was particularly impressed with the younger players, especially Calvert-Lewin and Holgate who until his poor header leading to the City goal had one of his most impressive games for us. Unlike John Stones I have a feeling he'll learn from that mistake and continue to improve with game time. As a team if we learn to not keep giving the ball away so cheaply the results away from home against the top teams in the league will improve, hopefully starting this week with 3 points at Stamford Bridge. As an aside I liked RK being positive in his substitutions although on this case I don't think they worked the way he planned. I think you hit the nail on the head there about giving the ball away cheaply. A bit of Martinez style possession wouldn't harm us.

Sometimes it appears we pass for passing sake whereas at other times, especially against other teams away from home certain players seem to panic and get rid of the ball too quickly and without getting their heads up. All it does is invite the sort of control of the game that teams like City thrive on.

Players looking to pass it back in a one-two instead of taking the risk to turn and shoot. I put it down to over coaching.

I was surprised he didn't stick another striker up the field to give us an outlet and stop the ball coming back at us but our boys did well given our circumstances. New team and all that.
