Hajduk Split stand in the way of Everton and a place in the Europa League group stage. The Blues beat MFK Ruzomberok to clinch their place in the play-off round and were paired with Croatian side Split in Friday's draw at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon. Everton will welcome Joan Carrillo’s team to Goodison Park on Thursday 17 August, with the return clash in Hajduk’s Stadion Poljud seven days later, on Thursday 24 August. Hajduk Split finished third in their domestic league last season and have overcome Bulgarian team Levski Sofia and Danish outfit Brondby to reach this stage of the competition. Everton FC

Koeman: Blues Will Be Prepared For Hajduk Split
Ronald Koeman says Everton will be “prepared” for the “real challenge” of Hajduk Split in the Europa League play-off round. The Blues have been drawn against the Croatian side, with the first leg scheduled to take place at Goodison on Thursday August 17. Everton will then travel to the 35,000-capacity Stadion Poljud on Thursday 24 August, with the winners of the tie moving on to the group stage of the competition. After Thursday’s 1-0 win over MFK Ruzomberok in Slovakia, which secured a 2-0 aggregate success in the third round qualifying, Koeman insists Everton will do all they can to get the better of Hajduk Split and seal further progress. “Hajduk Split will be a real challenge, with their strong support and a stadium that is good to play football in,” said the Dutchman. “But of course we want to reach the group stages of the Europa League, so we will have analysed their strengths and weaknesses between now and the tie and we will be prepared.” Everton FC
