I'm starting to get the butterflies in the belly each day that goes by. Not long now before the whistle blows. Stoke are a stronger team than they get credit for, especially at their place but at Goodison I fancy our chances if we can start scoring a bit more. We've not played that well in the warm ups or Europe so we'll have to notch it up a bit. Stoke are no mugs and will give us a game. I don't think we'll get any more players in now, and even if we did they probably wouldn't be eligible in time.

Arrive Early Ahead Of Season OpenerAdvice for those attending the Premier League curtain-raiser against Stoke. Evertonians are advised to arrive early at Goodison Park for tomorrow’s opening Premier League fixture against Stoke City. The game is a sell-out and supporters who are collecting, upgrading or have a general ticketing enquiry are encouraged to avoid potential queues at the box-office and ticket collection points in the build-up to kick-off (3pm) by arriving in good time. Additionally, the print-at-home option is activated for this game, meaning if you purchased your match ticket online, you can simply print it off and walk up to your turnstile when you arrive at the stadium – no hassle, no box office queues. Supporters arriving at the turnstiles are encouraged to have their tickets or season cards ready and should use the correct turnstile as indicated on the match ticket or season card. Season cards can either be read by inserting under the reader or being placed on top of the reader. Paper match tickets with barcodes need to be placed under the reader with the barcode facing up. Print-at-home tickets will be scanned in the same way as match tickets. Fans are advised to not shrink the print-at-home tickets in size when printing, print on coloured paper or allow them to be of a poor quality print. As always, if you are arriving early there's plenty of pre-match activity taking place in the Fan Zone and Matchday Hub. Everton FC

Pick Up Our New-Look ProgrammeA new-look Everton matchday programme kicks off with an exclusive interview with Wayne Rooney on Saturday. The bumper 100-page issue for this weekend's Premier League opener also features a Tanzania special, packed full of behind-the-scenes content and photography from Everton’s pre-season trip to the east African nation. From visits into the local community, to cooking challenges by the sea, and the showcase match against Gor Mahia, this publication is not to be missed. Rooney was, of course, on that trip and the opportunity to travel to Tanzania and then to Holland has helped him settle now he is back at his boyhood club. With the forward set to make his Premier League return in a blue shirt against Stoke City, he tells the official programme what he wants to achieve with his beloved Toffees. Joining Rooney in the programme is Morgan Schneiderlin who sat down to discuss why he is reaping the benefits of a first pre-season at the Club and how excited he is to see the additions made to the squad. We have a couple of new features for this season including ‘What If’ – the players answer a series of questions all starting with the phrase ‘What If’. This edition, Ademola Lookman reveals which trophy he’d most like to win and what superpower he would choose… Another new feature is ‘My First’, with Jordan Pickford in the hot seat this week. We still have the usual round-up of the Under-23s, Ladies and Under-18s, with chats with coaches David Unsworth and Paul Tait included, plus Andy Spence explaining how the Blue Girls’ pre-season is shaping up and new signing Angharad James shares her journey to the Toffees. And to round off a packed first edition of the brand new programme, Everton Giant Colin Harvey talks taking over from the legendary Howard Kendall. Everton FC

There could be 10 new signings on display across the two teams on the opening day of the season at Goodison Park yet Ronald Koeman and Mark Hughes would prefer more as their respective pursuits of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bruno Martins Indi drag on. The rebuilding of Everton and Stoke City may be incomplete but both managers have the immediate task of getting new-look teams to gel. Next up for Koeman’s team are Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United so a good start is imperative.
