MARK WRIGHT SIGNS UP FOR BRADLEY LOWERY CHARITY MATCH TV and radio presenter Mark Wright is the latest celebrity to grab his football boots and sign up to play in the Bradley Lowery Celebrity Charity Match at Goodison Park on Sunday 3 September. No stranger to the football pitch, television personality Mark played for England in a recent Soccer Aid match where he scored a 35-yard free kick and he will be hoping to bring his scoring boots to Goodison Park when he turns out for a special charity match in memory of Bradley Lowery. Former TOWIE star Mark will be lining up for Tony Bellew’s ‘Bradley’s Blues’ alongside former Everton stars Peter Beardsley, Alan Stubbs and Tony Hibbert as well as celebrity players Olly Murs, Stephen Graham, Shayne Ward and Calum Best. Speaking after signing up to appear in the game, Heart Radio presenter Mark said: “I am honoured to be asked to play in this special game in memory of young Bradley Lowery. He touched all of our hearts so I am chuffed to be playing and hope we raise as much money as possible for the Bradley Lowery Foundation and Everton in the Community.” Also signing up to play in the charity match is Rudimental frontman Locksmith who will be joining Katie Price’s ‘The Lowery Legends’ side alongside former Sunderland players Alex Rae, Don Hutchinson and Micky Gray and a host of celebrities including Steps star Lee Latchford Evans, F2 Freestyler Jeremy Lynch, TV personality Dan Osborne and Union J’s Josh Cuthbert. Brit Award and MOBO winning Rudimental are best known for their recent Top 10 hit ‘Sun Comes Up’ with James Arthur and London-born Locksmith makes up one quarter of the English drum and bass band. Rudimental’s DJ Locksmith said “It is a big honour for me to play in this charity match in memory of such a brave young man. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of Bradley’s legacy and hope to see as many people at Goodison Park as possible on Sunday 3 September.” The charity game has been arranged in conjunction with the Lowery family and the Bradley Lowery Foundation and, with the assistance of celebrity football organiser Sellebrity Soccer, will see proceeds raised benefit the Bradley Lowery Foundation and Everton in the Community. Young Sunderland supporter Bradley won the hearts of football fans around the world during his brave battle against neuroblastoma, a rare type of cancer, before his sad passing in July aged six. Tickets are priced at just £10 for adults for £5 for Under-16s and can be purchased online at www.evertonfc.com/bradley or over the phone on 0151 556 1878*. The family of six-year-old Bradley Lowery have shared their “excitement” after the charity set up in his name became official. The huge Sunderland supporter passed away last month having been diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just 18 months old. His story touched the hearts of people across the world, with celebrities, football stars and clubs supporting him throughout his brave battle. The Lowery family received approval from the Charity Commission to officially set up a foundation in Bradley’s name. Upon receiving confirmation Bradley’s mum Gemma said: “We’re mega excited to announce that after a lot of behind-the-scenes work, we’ve got a registered charity number for the Bradley Lowery Foundation. “I’m extremely proud to get to this point and take Bradley’s legacy forward. “We’re hoping to support, advise and encourage families on their fundraising campaigns to reach their target and get their child medical treatment and equipment. “We’ll give out some grants, but we’ll also spend time building rapport with families to support them in all kinds of different ways. Giving people normality in these situations is important so we’re also hoping to get a holiday home for families to use for short breaks. “It has been a tough few years, especially the last seven weeks. The Foundation has given me something to focus on and challenge my positive energy into, knowing that my baby has helped and will continue to help so many other children.” The newly-formed Foundation has recently been gifted the use of a corporate box at the Stadium of Light by Sunderland AFC, allowing them to bring to life the aims of the Bradley Lowery Foundation by either auctioning off the matchday hospitality offer or giving other young ill Sunderland fans the chance to make memories with their families. However, their first fundraising event since being granted official status will be a celebrity charity match at Goodison Park on Sunday 3 September, kicking off at 3pm. Tickets for the game, which will feature names including Olly Murs, Calum Best and Shayne Ward, are priced at just £10 for adults and £5 for Under-16s, with all proceeds from the game being split equally between the Bradley Lowery Foundation and Everton in the Community.
