Jack Kiersey has signed his first professional contract with Everton Football Club. The Blues youngster has put pen to paper on a one-year deal which will run until June 2018. The central midfielder, who is eligible to represent England and the Republic of Ireland, has been a regular for Everton Under-18s this season and was recognised earlier this month as the team’s Player of the Year for 2016/17. “Winning the award and signing the new contract is special,” said Kiersey. “It is what I’ve always wanted, what I’ve always been aiming for since I joined Everton’s Academy when I was 10 years old. “I’ve always seen photos of players signing their contracts and now it’s a dream come true that I have done the same. “I’ve been here a long time and I know what this Club means.” Kiersey’s progress through Everton’s youth system has seen him work alongside esteemed coaches Kevin Sheedy and David Unsworth. “I managed to get in and around the Under-23s team this season,” added the 18-year-old. “I want to kick on now, do as well as I can in pre-season and see where things go from there.”
