A host of Everton Supporters’ Clubs were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when they took part in a tournament on Goodison Park.
Sixteen teams entered the seven-a-side competition, with more than £4,000 raised towards the Home Is Where The Heart Is campaign.
After games were played out in four groups, teams were split into the ‘winners’ and the ‘best of the rest’ knockout stages.
Walnut Blues were crowned overall winners, picking up the trophy after beating Rice Lane in the final, while Taxi Club Blues won the second category.
Jackie Bowe from Han’s Tours FC won the Fair Play Award, which was decided by the match officials.
With more than 160 spectators in attendance on a glorious evening at Goodison, additional money was raised for charity with raffle tickets and badges sold by our Supporters’ Club Cyclists, who will embark on a bike ride from Sligo to Merseyside in a bid to raise £60,000 for David Unsworth’s initiative.
The ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ campaign will see the Club's Under-23s coach and his team work towards a fundraising target of £230,000 to fund and develop a supported living initiative for young people in Liverpool, delivered by Everton in the Community. The funds raised will be used to purchase, and operate, a house close to Goodison Park which will offer 16 to 23-year-olds who have fallen on hard times, or have perhaps fallen out of the care system, a place to stay in Liverpool.

Supposedly you have to be a local side to enter? No it was open to all affiliated Supporters club branches. Manchester had a team, as did Southport, two from Wales, and one from Ireland. Hopefully the club will consider making it an annual event.
