Hull City have elected not to sign Oumar Niasse on a permanent basis, at least for now.
The Yorkshire club had an option to sign the striker for around £10m if his loan spell was successful but their relegation from the Premier League has most likely dashed his hopes. The Senegalese was among the players listed as returning to their parent clubs on Hull's official website today.
Niasse, who joined Everton for £13.5m last year, was told he has no future at Goodison Park by Ronald Koeman and he eventually secured a temporary move to Hull in January.
Four goals in 17 appearances as the Tigers mounted what looked at one stage might be a successful bid to avoid the drop endeared him to their supporters but with manager Marco Silva's future uncertain and the club having to take stock as they prepare for the Championship, Hull have elected not to take up their option on Niasse at this time.
The parachute payments that relegated clubs receive from the Premier League may enable Hull to sign the 26-year-old on a permanent basis this summer — wages would be a significant stumbling block, however — but for now Niasse remains on Everton's books.

I'd like Everton to find the lad a permanent club if we're not going to use him.
He showed signs last season that there is a player inside him, but is that player one we can use?

No, I agree about Koeman, and have to say I thought it was an unpopular move, but he's in charge, and Niasse will have to play a blinder to get him to reconsider.
