Possibly too high , but allows room for negotiations I think Rugby is right. He's not justified that price tag but there's suckers *Man City* out there who might just pay the money. I just can't see where he'd fit in another team. I honestly can't see him becoming anything but a squad player in the top 4 clubs. I'm not bothered if he leaves as he's too inconsistent but he'd be making a mistake if he did. I'll be surprised if any of the top clubs put their hand in their pocket. Maybe they'll feel he could be better for them, than he is for Everton, but will they spend to find out? It wouldn't surprise me to see him sign a contract here, but I'm not sure I actually want him to stay, and not because I don't like him, but because I think we need to try other options.

Only reason I'd see him leaving is if Arsenal want him or another club wants to weaken us. He might get more games at Arsenal because they like midfielders who pass the ball around but don't do much with it.

Former Everton defender Richard Dunne has advised Ross Barkley to make the jump from his hometown club and move elsewhere. The midfielder’s future appears to be uncertain after manager Ronald Koeman recently claimed that his player has until the end of this week to sign a new contract. The Dutchman has confirmed that a deal is on the table for Barkley, who came through the ranks at Everton as a youngster. Barkley’s reluctance to sign it suggests that he is considering his options, but it seems as though the Toffees are clear in their stance. Koeman has reiterated publicly that Barkley will be sold this summer if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal. The club clearly do not want to run the risk of the midfielder running down his current contract and leaving for nothing at the end of next season. Dunne, who began his career at Everton and spent four years in the first team before leaving for Manchester City, has given his opinion on the situation.
He told talkSPORT:

Ronald Koeman has revealed Everton will release a statement on Monday regarding the future of contract rebel Ross Barkley, with the manager particularly critical of the midfielder’s performance against Arsenal. Barkley was initially left out of Everton’s team to take on the Gunners on Sunday but the England international came on just 26 minutes into the contest in place of Tom Davies. And Koeman has hit out at Barkley for his lack of “productivity” in the match in north London while also offering an update on the midfielder’s contract status. The Dutch coach has now indicated that the choice will be taken out of Barkley’s hands and the club will instead make a decision, which will be revealed on Monday. Koeman said after the match when asked about Barkley: “I will speak to the board tomorrow and we will make a statement. “He was one of the players who didn’t show productivity today. Overall it’s not about one player, but I understand why you asked about him. That’s what we need to change. We need to find players with more productivity. www.squawka.com
