Goodison Game Galvanises GreenForward excited to step out against Watford at Grand Old Lady.Attacker Mollie Green cannot wait to sample her first taste of playing at Goodison Park when Everton Ladies take on Watford on Sunday. The Blue Girls will run out at the Grand Old Lady as part of ‘Everton Week’ – three Toffees teams all being in action at the Club’s home ground. Monday saw the Under-23s’ coronation as Premier League 2 champions, with the men’s senior squad also tackling the Hornets on Friday, before the Ladies two days later. Fans can watch Sunday's game for free, with collections being made to support the Club's Home Is Where The Heart Is campaign. Green is looking forward to playing at Goodison in the Spring Series clash, and both the attacker and her teammates are thrilled to be doing their bit to raise vital funds for the community project to help homeless people in Liverpool. “I’m really excited!” she said. “To play at Goodison Park is going to be fantastic but not only that, it’s connected with fundraising for the Under-23s’ Home Is Where The Heart Is so to be a part of that is really good, too. “That week there’s three teams playing - there’s the first team on Friday night, us on the Sunday and of course the Under-23s played on Monday. So hopefully we see plenty of fans come out and support us. “We know Watford will be tough. But we’ve only dropped a few points so far and it’s been really good – we’re playing better together the more we play and we’ll grow throughout the season. “I think every game you go into has got to be competitive. For us, we’re not seeing it as ‘the Spring Series’ - we’re seeing it as a chance to win as many games as we can picking up as much points as possible as we can. “We need to lay the foundations for the proper season in September and the Spring Series is the perfect opportunity to do that.” Having arrived from Liverpool at the end of March, Green has started five straight games and helped the Toffees to three wins in that sequence over Aston Villa, Brighton and Durham. But she has yet to open her account for her new club, so Goodison could well be the perfect time to do so. “I did say in one of my interviews when I came here that I’m a goalscorer and I’m yet to do that here! “But the more I get settled, the more games I get to play in and the more I can showcase what I can do, the more I think I’ll score the goals.” Kicking off at 2pm, fans are being encouraged to turn up and support the Ladies’ team for free and make a donation towards EitC's fundraising drive.
