Everton Under-18s recorded an impressive 3-1 away victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon. The young Blues came racing out of the blocks and took a deserved lead on 15 minutes as Jack Kiersey opened the scoring with a tidy low finish. Kevin Sheedy’s side continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their advantage before the half-time interval when Michael Collins’ free-kick was cleared as far as Ryan Harrington, who made no mistake from close-range. The visitors added a third shortly after the break, with 16-year-old forward Korede Adedoyin capping an impressive display with a goal. West Brom pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining - but coach Sheedy was pleased with the way his side defended in the closing stages to ensure all three points. He told evertonfc.com: “We played really well. It was probably one of our best performances of the season. The first half was particularly pleasing, with some very good attacking play. “We have been working on combination play in the final third and it was great to see the players put that into practice throughout the game. “We were cruising at 3-0 but the goal we conceded was a sloppy one. We had to defend in the last 10 minutes, which we did very well.” Everton Under-18s: Pierce, Baxter, Moore, Harrington, Collins (Ouzounidis, 80), Bramall (Richards, 85), Scully, Kiersey, Denny, Duke-McKenna, Adedoyin.
