He may have only joined Hamburg in the January transfer window, but already defensive midfielder Walace is being linked with a move to Everton and Leicester City, with the pair reportedly willing to splash the cash on the Brazilian. The 21-year-old midfield powerhouse began his career with homeland giants Gremio, helping them to a Copa do Brazil title in 2016, and catching the eye of numerous European clubs with his imposing physique and commanding displays. And he’s shown he can impress on the big stage, playing a vital part in Brazil to Olympic Gold at Rio 2016, and impressing against a number of the continent’s top sides in the Copa Libertadores. Despite Hamburg winning the battle for his services last month, it’s believed the Salvador native is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer, with Everton now 4/1 favourites for his signature – having been as long as 8/1

Do we really need more defensive midfielders? Basic is back soon and we'll find it hard to keep them all happy. I'd like to see other areas strengthened.

I always find it a bit odd that the transfer window closes, and because there is a break, we mysteriously start getting linked with potential signings.
I agree that we're quite full in the defensive mid area.
