Romelu Lukaku has been unable to travel to Everton’s training camp in Dubai because of a calf problem which will require treatment. The 23-year-old striker will visit a doctor in Belgium this week, though the problem is not serious and he will be fit for the Blues’ Premier League game against Sunderland on Saturday 25 February. Manager Ronald Koeman will put his players through their first training session this morning after the team arrived in Dubai on Monday evening. Lukaku and Yannick Bolasie, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury, were the only senior players not to make the trip to the United Arab Emirates. Also part of the travelling group are Matthew Pennington, Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Calvert-Lewin is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from an ankle problem sustained at the start of January which Koeman said was likely to sideline the forward for seven to eight weeks. Muhamed Besic has also made the journey as he continues to fight back to fitness following the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered in the pre-season friendly against Manchester United in August 2016 at Old Trafford. Lukaku Back In TrainingRonald Koeman has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku, James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas are back in training ahead of Everton’s match with Sunderland on Saturday. Lukaku missed the recent five-day training camp in Dubai after travelling to Belgium to seek treatment on a minor calf problem. Both McCarthy (hamstring) and Mirallas (groin) were not risked in the 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough in the Toffees’ previous fixture but travelled to the United Arab Emirates last week. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Koeman confirmed that all three have been involved in training as the Blues prepare for the Black Cats. “Romelu had a little calf problem but has been back in training for the last three days,” he said. “James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas have also trained with the group this week. Koeman had further positive news when it came to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Muhamed Besic. The former has been out since damaging his ankle in the 3-0 win over Southampton in early January, with the Bosnia international missing since Wayne Rooney’s testimonial in pre-season due to a cruciate ligament injury. But both are nearing returns to full training. “Dominic will be back on Tuesday, and then we have Mo who is doing parts of training,” added the manager. “He is in a good way to come back totally as a player in the team. “Yannick also has his second surgery in early March. “We are fit and we are ready for the weekend.” Everton FC

Without Lukaku , I think we will struggle...Who would be the replacement if he is out? Kone? There's a lot about Lukaku that needs improving but we have a big lack of goals in the team. If he gets a long term injury we will get a rude wake up call.
