Everton Ladies have signed forwards Amber Stobbs and Olivia Chance ahead of the 2017 season. Stobbs was at Reading last season, while four-cap New Zealand international Chance previously played for Icelandic club Breiðablik. Both have joined in time to be included in the squad for Sunday’s FA Cup third round tie at Brighouse Town. Manager Andy Spence revealed the duo have impressed on trial with the Blue Girls and is pleased to have added them to the group. “The forward areas were always ones where we identified we might look to make a new signing in so I am delighted to welcome both Amber and Olivia to Everton,” he told evertonfc.com. “Amber has come in and trained with us and done really well in our pre-season programme so far. The qualities that she has will fit really well into what we have and she is the type of player that we want. “She is very direct and enjoys one-v-one situations. She brings a really good attacking dimension to our play. “We are also really pleased to add Olivia to the squad. She is someone with strong technical ability and has already shown within our sessions she has the ability to create opportunities via clever play. I also believe she will bring goals to the team.” Spence has hinted at further additions to his squad but will take his time in bringing in the right players. The Toffees boss also has one eye on several youngsters pushing for inclusion in the senior group. “We are always looking, and we would hope to add a couple more to the group before the start of the regular season,” he added. “The Spring Series is an opportunity to have a look at one or two of our Development Squad and not rush into anything. It gives us time to go out and find the right players. “If they are available now then great but if not, with the quality we have already, we can be happy with the position we are in and can add as we go along.” Everton FC

Blues Chance Excites Olivia
Olivia Chance is excited to be joining a ‘huge name’ in Everton Ladies.
The New Zealander became the Blue Girls second signing ahgead of the new campaign, following on from the arrival of former Reading attacker Amber Stobbs.
Chance is thrilled at the opportunity to test herself in English football and at a club with a strong following in her homeland.
“I am really happy to be at a club like Everton,” she told evertonfc.com. “It’s a huge name, really well known back home in New Zealand so it is great to be here.
“From when I was younger, I always wanted to play in England. My mum is English so English football was always on the TV. It was an easy decision to come and play my football.
“I’m excited for the FA Cup game. Everyone knows this competition and everyone wants to be involved in it. I just want to be ready for whenever the team needs me.”
The arrival of Chance boosts manager Andy Spence’s forward options and the player herself has settled in quickly.
A goal threat, Chance netted 31 in 79 games for college side South Florida Bulls and arrives at Everton following a spell in Iceland with Breiðablik.
She is looking forward to playing her part in the Toffees’ promotion push in WSL 2, following the conclusion of the Spring Series.
“I love to be on the ball so I’m always looking to get on it and try and get assists,” she explains. “I like to create goals more than score them – although everyone loves to score goals!
“During my college years I played as an attacking central midfielder. I managed to score quite a lot of goals and I loved every bit of my time in Florida. But I’m excited to move on and be here at Everton.
“I’ve been training with the girls for a little while now and I feel like I am getting into my grove. I’m becoming more confident with the group every day. They are a great bunch. They bring a lot of laughter but can also get down to the nitty gritty. I’m looking forward to helping them progress to WSL 1.”
