www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/clubs/manchestercity/article3994617.eceJack Rodwell’s future at Manchester City has been thrown into doubt after it emerged that Manuel Pellegrini was ready to allow the England midfielder to return to Everton on loan, only for the proposed deal to be scrapped after City failed in their attempt to sign Fernando from Porto. A complex double deal in which Gareth Barry would have joined Everton permanently, with Rodwell going back to his former club on loan until the end of the season, was set up on transfer deadline day, with City planning to bolster their midfield with Fernando.

He could still be a good player for us if he was to stay fit. A derby Jack is a Jack I'd have back.

After rescinding his contract with Sunderland, Jack Rodwell is determined to relaunch his career. The midfielder born in ‘91 has joined Watford’s retreat for a trial run, his goal is to convince manager Javi Gracia and become a Hornets player after essentially a year without playing.
Serie A and MLS clubs were also interested in Rodwell, but the player is hoping to start the next chapter of his career in the Premier League
