Oh, my! Swansea beat Liver and Potters stole two points from Mu! Could it be even better?! Yes it could! Go Spurs! Wayne Rooney scoring a late goal beat Bobby Charlton's record. It leaves us 5 points behind them but the gap is closing.

Koeman: We Deserved ThatRonald Koeman insisted his side fully deserved to take all three points from a difficult game against Crystal Palace. Everton had eight shots on target to the Eagles’ two, with 56 per cent of the possession, but found themselves up against an inspired Wayne Hennessey in the home goal. The Wales glovesman brilliantly denied Kevin Mirallas and Ramiro Funes Mori in the first half and looked like he had helped earn his side a point. But Seamus Coleman latched onto Tom Davies’ pass and lifted the ball high into the net to finally break Hennessey’s resistance, to the delight of the travelling fans. “In my opinion it was deserved,” reflected Koeman. “It’s not bad to score a late one because it doesn’t give your opponent that time to get a draw. “We played really well, with good ball possession between the lines and good movement. We had enough shots on target and created good chances but their goalkeeper was outstanding. “But it was too difficult to stop the goal from Seamus. There was good movement from him, from the first, second, third second he is always on the run and it is difficult to defend that. “We had a difficult start to the game and they had the header from [Christian] Benteke. But we were good in our defending, we were winning second balls and keeping them out of the box. There were a lot of good headers [clearing crosses].” Everton came in to the game at Selhurst Park off the back of their 4-0 success over Manchester City, a game that had seen the Blues earn plenty of plaudits. Indeed, the League Managers’ Association had named it their Performance of the Week. But Koeman had been adamant how different this game would be and was left delighted with the mental strength of his players. “If you beat City, with that big result, everybody expects the same performance,” he added. “But maybe today it was more difficult than it was last week. “I am really proud and really pleased with the win today. Our attitude was perfect. “We know this is a difficult place to come but we have come away with a win and a clean sheet. After last week, it really is fantastic.” Everton FC Want to reply to articles as a guest?Loads more Everton News HEREREGISTER WITH LOVE EVERTON FORUM HERE Checkout our site map HERE

And I'm a bit afraid to give praises for Joel (not to jinx) but he was good today. Finally he started to playing in advance and catching a ball when corners are given. Well done and keep it up!
