Everton Football Club is saddened to announce that former Club secretary Jim Greenwood has passed away. Mr Greenwood served Everton with great distinction from December 1975 to November 1994, most notably during the glory days of the 1980s, supporting chairman Sir Philip Carter and manager Howard Kendall. Graeme Sharp, who became good friends with Mr Greenwood after being warmly welcomed by him and then boss Gordon Lee on his first day at Everton, said: “Jim was a lovely man. He was everybody’s friend and somebody you could speak to if you needed anything. Above all, he was always totally professional and very, very good at his job. It is a truly sad day.” The thoughts of everyone at Everton Football Club are with Mr Greenwood’s family and many friends at this sad time.
