I went and was so bored in the 1st half.....frrrrreeeezing as well. We deserved the 3pts in the 2nd half. But overall pretty uninspiring from both tired looking sides. Still a win is a win Our football is still all over the place. We have a good few minutes but over the 90 I preferred the way we played under Roberto.

Nice read again Ross, and I think the subject of 'hype' that you raised is an important one. Davies is barely a child, and it's important that Koeman protects him, and that fans understand that our young players need to be protected, and so might not play as often as they'd like. Martinez was a clown where this was concerned, and took the opportunity to hype players up at every step, declaring statement after statement, and doing the players little favours. It's also worth noting that we once took penalties 'and' freekicks away from Leighton Baines, in an attempt to boost Lukaku's goal tally, so it's nice to see Romelu Lukaku gaining confidence this season, and he's looked an improved player in the last few games, and certainly it won't harm Baines' confidence being back on penalties and banging them in. Did you see there was still a bit of debate about who should take it, until someone reminded Baines that he was captain so he could decide! I worry a little bit that his run up means there's virtually nowhere else he could kick it, but both today and Utd whilst in the same place, were unreachable, even if Forster had gone the right way How was Baines captain? He's as timid as a mouse.

I'm convinced the players strung him up too.
